The RAYPAK H622250 is a 250-foot wet heating cable rated for 240-volt operation. Wet heating cables are designed to prevent freezing in exposed piping, roof drains, and gutters by delivering consistent resistive heat along their length. This cable is suited for applications where moisture contact is expected, making it appropriate for outdoor or wet-location installs. Licensed electricians and plumbing contractors typically install this type of cable as part of a freeze-protection system on water supply lines, drain lines, or similar exposed runs.
The H622250 is intended for residential and light commercial freeze-protection applications where 250 feet of continuous heating cable length is required at 240 volts. Common install scenarios include protecting exterior water lines, roof and gutter systems, and mechanical room piping runs in cold-climate regions. The 250-foot length accommodates longer straight runs or looped configurations depending on the pipe layout and local frost depth requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style freeze-protection heating cable for wet-location piping applications where a 240-volt, 250-foot self-contained cable is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 426 governing fixed outdoor electric deicing and snow-melting equipment. De-energize and lock out the branch circuit before making any terminations or routing adjustments. The cable should not be overlapped on itself, as heat buildup at crossing points can damage the cable and create a fire hazard. Follow the manufacturer's minimum bend radius and spacing requirements for the pipe diameter being protected.
