Shut off the water supply at the hose bib before connecting or removing any inline device. Thread the R620CT onto the hose bib outlet and connect the downstream hose or irrigation line to the outlet end, hand-tightening and then snugging with pliers — do not overtighten threaded hose fittings. Local plumbing codes, including the IPC, typically require backflow prevention at all hose connections where a cross-connection risk exists. Inspect the vacuum breaker periodically for mineral buildup or seal wear, which can compromise its backflow protection function.
