The RACO 2916 is a compression-type EMT conduit connector with an insulated throat, designed to secure electrical metallic tubing to enclosures and junction boxes. Built from zinc electroplated steel, it provides corrosion resistance without requiring additional finishing. The connector measures 2.27 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches in length, with a thread length of 0.70 inches, making it suitable for 1-1/2 inch trade size EMT conduit. The insulated throat protects wire insulation at the entry point. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the typical installers for this fitting in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This connector is rated for applications above 600 volts and carries UL 514-B, UL (Canada and US), and CSA C22.2 approvals, making it appropriate for commercial and residential electrical raceways where code-compliant, concrete-tight terminations are required. Its compression design ensures a secure mechanical connection to EMT conduit without setscrew installation, and the concrete-tight rating qualifies it for use in poured concrete or masonry environments where moisture and debris exposure are concerns.
Designed for use with 1-1/2 inch trade size EMT conduit. Suitable as a standard compression connector in residential and commercial electrical conduit systems where EMT terminations at boxes or enclosures are required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify the system is locked out before making any conduit connections at an enclosure or panel. Use an appropriately sized conduit wrench or compression tool to achieve a secure fitting without over-tightening, which can damage the connector body. Verify that the insulated throat is fully seated before tightening to ensure conductor protection is maintained.
