The RACO 1452 is a half-inch double-contact offset nipple designed to connect electrical conduit runs where a straight coupling will not fit due to misaligned knockouts or obstructions. The offset design allows the conduit to shift laterally while maintaining a secure, grounded connection at both ends. This fitting is a standard trade component installed by licensed electricians during rough-in and finish wiring on commercial and residential projects. Its double-contact construction ensures continuous equipment grounding continuity through the fitting body, which is required under NEC bonding rules for metal raceway systems.
This offset nipple is used in conduit installations where box knockouts or enclosure entries are not perfectly aligned. Common applications include panel boards, junction boxes, pull boxes, and meter enclosures where rigid or IMC conduit terminates at a metal enclosure. The fitting is sold in carton quantities of 50 units, making it practical for electrical contractors stocking for multi-unit or large commercial jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard conduit accessory for half-inch rigid metal conduit, IMC, and threaded conduit fitting systems in commercial and residential electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC Article 344 or 342 as applicable to the conduit type. De-energize all circuits and verify lockout-tagout procedures are in place before working inside any enclosure. Thread the nipple fully into both knockouts and tighten locknuts firmly to ensure metal-to-metal contact for grounding continuity. Do not over-tighten to the point of damaging the enclosure knockout edge or fitting threads.
