The RAB T8-9-24G-835-DE-BYP is a 2-foot T8 LED linear tube designed as a direct ballast-bypass replacement for fluorescent lighting systems. Rated at 9 watts and delivering 1100 lumens, it produces a 3500K neutral white color temperature suited to commercial and light industrial environments. The glass construction houses the LED array, and the double-ended wiring method routes line voltage through both tombstone contacts for a reliable, ballast-free circuit. Installation requires a licensed electrician performing a single-lamp ballast-bypass rewire per NEC guidelines. This tube is a practical choice when retrofitting troffers, shop lights, and strip fixtures for long-term energy reduction.
This T8 tube fits standard 2-foot fluorescent fixture housings commonly found in retail spaces, offices, warehouses, and light commercial buildings. The ballast-bypass configuration eliminates the existing magnetic or electronic ballast from the circuit entirely, which removes a common failure point and reduces ongoing maintenance. With an 80 CRI rating, color rendering is adequate for task-lighting and general ambient applications. Electrical contractors and licensed electricians typically handle this retrofit when servicing commercial lighting panels or completing tenant improvement work.
Designed as a ballast-bypass retrofit for standard 2-foot T8 fluorescent fixture housings. Requires rewiring tombstones for double-ended line-voltage operation; not compatible with fixtures retaining an active ballast.
Ballast-bypass wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 410 and local electrical codes. Disconnect and de-energize the fixture completely before removing the existing ballast and rewiring tombstone sockets for double-ended line-voltage input. Verify that the tombstone sockets are non-shunted type, as double-ended bypass wiring requires isolated contacts at each end. Do not install this tube in a fixture where the original ballast remains in the circuit.
