Quiktron 576-145-005 Cat6 Patch Cable 5 Ft Purple

Product Description

The QUIKTRON 576-145-005 is a 5-foot Cat6 snagless patch cable rated for CM (Communications Multipurpose) indoor use. It provides a reliable, pre-terminated copper network connection for structured cabling installations in commercial and residential settings. The snagless boot design protects the RJ45 latch during installation and cable management, reducing connector damage in high-density patch panels and switch ports. The purple jacket color aids in quick visual identification of network segments or VLANs. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians are the typical installers for this type of cable in data closets and equipment rooms.

This patch cable is suited for horizontal and equipment-room runs where CM-rated cabling meets local building and fire codes. It connects network switches, patch panels, routers, and end-user devices in standard 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet infrastructure. The 5-foot length is a common choice for short rack-to-rack or patch-panel-to-switch connections. The purple jacket provides a consistent color-coding convention commonly used to distinguish specific network roles or zones within a structured cabling system.

Installation Notes

Low-voltage technicians and licensed electricians typically install CM-rated patch cables in data closets, server rooms, and general office environments. No tools are required for patch cable installation beyond proper cable management hardware. Verify that existing cabling infrastructure meets or exceeds Cat6 specifications to maintain rated channel performance. Follow NEC Article 800 guidelines for communications cable routing and separation from power conductors.
