Rated at R6.0, the sleeve reduces heat transfer along supply and return ducts, improving the efficiency of both heated and cooled airflow. The reinforced metallic polyester vapor barrier limits condensation buildup on cold duct surfaces, which is critical in humid climates or unconditioned spaces such as attics and crawlspaces. The SS0860 is sized for 8-inch round hard pipe duct and comes in a standard 5-foot length. It is suited for residential forced-air systems and light commercial installations where existing or newly installed galvanized or sheet metal round duct requires insulation to meet energy code requirements. The R6.0 rating satisfies common energy code minimums for duct insulation in conditioned and semi-conditioned spaces.
