The QUIETFLEX 80seriesbag is a pre-bagged section of R6-insulated flexible air duct designed for residential and light commercial HVAC distribution systems. This 6-inch diameter by 25-foot length features a metallic polyester vapor barrier outer jacket with a rip-stop scrim reinforcement for added durability during handling and installation. The inner core is a galvanized metal helix construction sized generously to slip-fit onto standard collars and register boxes. Johns Manville formaldehyde-free fiberglass insulation fills the annular space, providing an R6 thermal value. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this product to connect air handlers, plenums, and branch runs to diffusers and registers.
This flex duct is suited for use in residential forced-air systems and light commercial applications where a flexible branch run is required. The oversized core is designed to seat properly on standard round collars and register box necks without forcing or distortion. The weather-resistant packaging supports jobsite and roof storage conditions. Available lengths of 12.5 feet, 25 feet, and 50 feet allow contractors to select the cut that minimizes waste. Custom lengths are also available through the manufacturer. The product meets HUD/FHA standards 515.2.1 Paragraph B and NFPA standards 90A and 90B, as well as BOCA and City of Chicago codes, and is designed to meet most federal, state, and local mechanical codes.
Designed for use with standard 6-inch round collars, plenums, and register box necks in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor in accordance with NFPA 90A, NFPA 90B, and applicable local mechanical codes. Shut down and de-energize the air handler or furnace before connecting or disconnecting any duct sections. Secure the inner liner, insulation, and outer jacket to collars separately using approved draw bands and mastic or UL 181B-listed tape — sheet metal screws alone are not an approved connection method for flexible duct. Avoid sharp bends, compression, or excessive sag, as these reduce airflow and system efficiency.
