The QUIETFLEX 470C is a silver, insulated flexible duct rated at R6.0, designed for air distribution in residential, commercial, and manufactured home HVAC systems. This 4-inch diameter duct ships in a 25-foot length and features Johns Manville insulation wrapped around an oversized galvanized or bronze metal core. The oversized core allows the duct to seat correctly on standard collars and register boxes without forcing or stretching. HVAC technicians and installers use this product wherever code-compliant flexible duct is required for supply or return air routing. The R6.0 insulation rating helps limit heat gain and loss across unconditioned spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
The QUIETFLEX 470C is suited for light commercial and residential ducted air systems, including split systems, packaged units, and air handlers. It is also approved for use in manufactured housing applications in accordance with HUD and FHA standards. The 25-foot bag length is a standard field quantity appropriate for a range of branch-duct runs. It is commonly installed by licensed HVAC technicians working on new construction and replacement projects across a wide variety of system configurations and climate zones.
Designed for use in residential, commercial, and manufactured home ducted HVAC systems. Meets HUD and FHA standards 515.2.1 paragraph B, NFPA 90A and 90B, and most BOCA, City of Chicago, federal, state, and local codes and standards. UL listed to UL 181.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local mechanical codes and NFPA 90A or 90B. Power down the air handling unit and close the system before connecting or disconnecting duct sections. Secure both ends of the flexible duct with approved clamps or draw bands and mastic or UL 181-rated tape — do not use standard cloth duct tape as a primary sealant. Avoid sharp bends and excessive compression of the duct, as both conditions reduce airflow and system efficiency.
