The QUIETFLEX 2065 is an R-8 rated, UV-inhibited flexible duct assembly designed for use in HVAC distribution systems exposed to outdoor or high-UV environments. The duct features a UV-inhibited black polyethylene vapor barrier jacket, Johns Manville formaldehyde-free fiberglass insulation rated at R-8, and a galvanized metal spiral core for structural integrity. The oversized inner core is engineered to fit standard collars and register boxes without reduction, making field terminations clean and reliable. This product ships as a 25-foot bag in the 20-inch diameter configuration. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers are the primary installers.
This flexible duct is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC trunk-and-branch or radial distribution systems. The UV-inhibited jacket makes it appropriate for attic, crawlspace, or partially exposed installations where UV degradation is a concern. The weather-resistant packaging protects the product during job-site storage. It is available in 12.5-foot, 25-foot, and 50-foot bag lengths, as well as custom lengths for larger project requirements. The 20-inch diameter targets high-volume trunk runs or large commercial branch feeds.
Designed as an OEM-style flexible duct replacement and new-installation product for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring R-8 insulated flexible ductwork. Meets HUD/FHA standards 515.2.1 Paragraph B, NFPA 90A and 90B, BOCA, and City of Chicago codes, as well as most federal, state, and local duct installation codes and standards. GREENGUARD Certified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal installer in accordance with SMACNA flexible duct installation guidelines and applicable local mechanical codes. Shut down and lock out the air handling system before connecting or repositioning duct runs. Avoid sharp bends that reduce the inner diameter and restrict airflow; maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the applicable code authority. Secure all connections with approved clamps or draw bands and seal with UL 181B-rated mastic or tape before insulating any exposed collar joints.
