The QUIETFLEX 1260 is a 12-inch diameter, R-6 insulated flexible air duct designed for residential and light commercial HVAC distribution systems. Constructed with a poly outer jacket and formaldehyde-free fiberglass insulation, it provides effective thermal performance in supply and return air applications. The duct ships in a 25-foot length, making it suitable for branch runs from a plenum or trunk line to individual supply registers. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers are the primary installers of this product. The black poly jacket includes UV inhibitors, which extends service life in attic and crawlspace environments where incidental light exposure may occur.
This flex duct is used in forced-air heating and cooling systems where a flexible connection is needed between rigid ductwork and supply outlets. Common install locations include attic spaces, crawlspaces, and dropped-ceiling plenum areas. The R-6 insulation value meets or exceeds energy code minimums required in most climate zones for supply duct runs located outside conditioned space. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit duct replacement work in residential and small commercial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction flexible duct for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC distribution systems requiring a 12-inch diameter, R-6 insulated flexible duct.
Flexible duct installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with ACCA Manual D and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before making duct connections. Avoid sharp bends, compression, or sagging, as these conditions significantly increase static pressure and reduce system airflow; support intervals and minimum bend radii should follow SMACNA flexible duct installation guidelines. Seal all connections at collars and fittings with UL 181B-listed mastic or approved metal-backed tape before insulating the joint.
