The QUIETFLEX 10KPR8 is a 10-inch diameter flexible duct rated at R-8 insulation value, supplied in 25-foot lengths with a UV-inhibited black jacket. This product is used in forced-air HVAC distribution systems to connect air handlers, plenums, and branch fittings to supply registers. The R-8 insulation rating reduces heat gain and loss in unconditioned spaces, making it well suited for attic and crawlspace installations. The UV-inhibited outer jacket resists degradation from sunlight exposure, extending service life in exposed or semi-exposed runs. HVAC installers and sheet metal contractors are the primary trades who handle this product.
This flexible duct is intended for residential and light commercial forced-air supply applications where a pre-insulated, flexible distribution solution is required. Typical install scenarios include trunk-to-register branch runs in attic systems, tight-space routing around structural members, and retrofit duct replacement where rigid duct is impractical. The 25-foot bag length allows full branch runs to be completed with minimal or no splicing on standard residential systems.
Designed as an OEM-style flexible duct replacement or new-install component compatible with standard 10-inch round duct fittings, collars, and takeoffs used in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with ACCA Manual D duct design guidelines and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before making duct connections. Avoid sharp bends or compressed sections that reduce airflow and increase static pressure; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for the duct diameter. Secure all connections with approved clamps and mastic or UL 181-rated tape — sheet metal screws alone are not an approved seal method for flexible duct.
