The PROTO JSCVM18 is an 18 mm ratcheting combination wrench built for professional trades where speed and access matter. The 12-point box end engages fasteners at multiple positions, reducing the swing arc needed in tight spaces. A 15-degree offset head angle improves knuckle clearance on flat surfaces and confined assemblies. The straight handle is finished in corrosion-resistant chrome over steel construction. At 9-5/16 inches overall length, it delivers solid leverage without becoming unwieldy. Reversing ratchet action lets the tech change drive direction without removing the wrench from the fastener, cutting time on repetitive fastening tasks. It meets ASME B107.100-2010 and is tether-capable for elevated or confined-space work.
This wrench is suited for mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial maintenance applications where 18 mm fasteners appear regularly. Common install scenarios include equipment mounting hardware, pipe flanges, valve bonnets, compressor brackets, and structural fasteners on commercial and residential mechanical systems. The tether-capable design makes it appropriate for work on rooftops, elevated platforms, or inside air handler cabinets where dropped-tool hazards must be managed. It is not non-sparking and is not intended for use in classified hazardous atmospheres without additional controls.
Designed for use with 18 mm hex fasteners across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial maintenance applications. Compatible with standard tool-tethering lanyards and anchor systems where tether-capable wrenches are required.
This wrench is typically used by HVAC technicians, pipefitters, plumbers, and industrial mechanics. Before service, de-energize equipment and isolate any pressurized lines per applicable codes. Inspect the wrench for cracks or wear before each use; do not use a damaged wrench as a substitute for a torque wrench where fastener torque is specified. Attach a tether lanyard through the tether point before working at height or in confined spaces where a dropped tool presents a hazard.
