The PROTO J7722HT is a 6-point impact socket designed for use with 3/8 inch drive impact wrenches and rattle guns. Built from alloy steel with a thin-wall construction, it accepts an 11/16 inch hex fastener and measures 2-7/32 inches overall length. The hex drive profile transfers torque directly to fastener flats, reducing the risk of rounding. This socket is suited for automotive, mechanical, and light industrial fastening work performed by mechanics, technicians, and tradespeople who require a reliable, impact-rated tool for confined or standard-access applications.
The J7722HT thin-wall design allows fitment in tighter spaces where standard-wall sockets may not clear surrounding components. It is appropriate for use with 3/8 inch drive pneumatic, cordless, or corded impact tools in shop and field environments. Typical applications include suspension work, engine bay fastening, and general mechanical assembly where 11/16 inch hex fasteners are encountered. The 6-point contact geometry distributes load evenly across the fastener, which is especially important under the high-cycle torque loads generated by impact drivers.
Designed as an OEM-style impact socket compatible with 3/8 inch drive impact wrenches, ratchets, and extension bars accepting standard square drive tooling.
This socket should be installed onto a 3/8 inch drive impact tool with the retaining pin or ring fully seated before use. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before each use, and remove from service if damage is found. Do not use impact sockets with hand-ratchet torque wrenches, as impact-rated sockets are not calibrated for torque measurement. Always ensure the fastener size matches the socket size before applying power tool torque.
