The PROTO J5536HL is a deep hand socket designed for high-torque fastener work in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from alloy steel with a satin finish, it features a 3/4-inch drive and a 1-1/8-inch opening sized for large fasteners found in mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. The 6-point contact geometry grips fastener flats rather than corners, reducing rounding under heavy load. At 3.5 inches overall length, the deep profile clears extended studs, bolt shanks, and recessed fasteners that a standard-depth socket cannot reach. It meets ASME B107.110-2012, the recognized standard for impact and hand sockets in North American trade use.
This socket suits licensed mechanics, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and plumbers who regularly work with large-diameter fasteners on flanges, equipment mounts, valve bonnets, and structural connections. The 3/4-inch drive pairs with 3/4-inch drive breaker bars, ratchets, and torque wrenches common in heavy mechanical and commercial service work. The deep length is particularly useful when fasteners sit below a surface or are threaded onto long studs where a shallow socket would bottom out before full engagement.
Designed as an OEM-style hand socket for use with 3/4-inch drive ratchets, breaker bars, and torque wrenches in commercial and industrial trade applications.
Install and remove with standard 3/4-inch drive hand tools. De-energize, depressurize, or shut off any system before breaking fasteners on pressurized or energized equipment. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before each use and do not use a damaged socket under load. This socket is not rated for impact driver use unless confirmed by the manufacturer.
