The PROTO J4920HFL is a 5/8-inch flare nut crowfoot wrench designed for use on flare fittings and hex fasteners in confined spaces where a standard open-end or box wrench cannot seat properly. The crowfoot head attaches to a 1/4-inch drive ratchet or torque wrench, giving technicians controlled torque access in tight plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration installations. The 6-point contact pattern reduces fastener rounding under load. The chrome-plated finish resists corrosion and simplifies cleaning after field use. With a head diameter of 1-11/32 inches and a head thickness of 1/4 inch, this wrench fits into restricted service areas without compromising grip or drive engagement. Meets ASME B107.21 and Federal Specification GGG-C-1507b.
The J4920HFL is suited for licensed plumbers, HVAC-R technicians, and refrigeration mechanics working on flare fittings, refrigerant line connections, gas valves, and other hex-head fasteners in tight quarters. Its compact overall length of 1.75 inches makes it practical for under-manifold work, close-clearance valve connections, and service calls where full-size wrenches are blocked by adjacent components or structural members.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch drive ratchets and torque wrenches. Suitable for 5/8-inch flare fittings and hex fasteners encountered in HVAC-R, plumbing, and refrigeration service work.
This tool is installed by licensed HVAC-R technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration mechanics. Always relieve system pressure and shut off any gas or refrigerant supply before loosening or tightening flare fittings. Seat the crowfoot head fully on the fastener before applying torque to avoid rounding. When using with a torque wrench at an offset angle, apply the appropriate angular correction factor per the torque wrench manufacturer guidance.
