The PROTO J1181T is a double-end offset box end wrench designed for fastener work in tight or recessed spaces where a standard wrench cannot seat properly. The offset head geometry provides knuckle clearance and allows torque to be applied at an angle, reducing hand fatigue during repetitive turns. Both ends are 12-point, accepting 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch fasteners. The wrench is constructed from steel and is reversible, making it suitable for both tightening and loosening without repositioning. It is a standard hand tool used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general trade professionals.
This wrench fits common fastener sizes found in residential and light commercial equipment panels, access covers, and mechanical assemblies. The 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch ends cover a range of smaller hex fasteners frequently encountered in equipment housings, electrical enclosures, and pipe supports. The double-end configuration reduces the number of tools needed on the job and the offset design allows access in spaces with limited vertical clearance above the fastener head.
Designed for use with 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch 12-point fasteners across general trade applications including HVAC equipment panels, electrical enclosures, and plumbing hardware.
This is a hand tool and requires no installation. Use the appropriate end for the fastener size being serviced and confirm the box end is fully seated before applying torque to avoid rounding the fastener head. Inspect the wrench for cracks or deformation before use. Follow applicable safety practices for the system being serviced, including locking out and tagging out electrical or mechanical equipment before accessing fasteners.
