The PROTO 57-534A is a soft-face dead blow hammer designed to deliver controlled impact without rebound, surface marring, or spark. The head is filled with loose shot that absorbs rebound energy on contact, making it a reliable choice for driving components, seating fittings, and adjusting assemblies where steel-on-steel impact would cause damage. The urethane face measures 2-13/16 inches in diameter and the head weighs 3.25 pounds (52 ounces), providing substantial striking force with reduced risk of workpiece deformation. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters reach for this hammer when setting sheet metal, persuading stubborn fittings, or working around finished surfaces.
This hammer is suited for residential and light commercial trade work where controlled, non-marring impact is required. Common applications include seating ductwork connections, adjusting pipe hangers, driving plastic or copper fittings, and general mechanical assembly tasks. The 15-1/4 inch overall length gives adequate handle clearance in tight equipment rooms and mechanical spaces. The composite handle resists vibration and moisture, holding up in field service conditions.
Designed as a general-purpose soft-face dead blow hammer suitable for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trade applications requiring non-marring impact.
No power source or lockout procedure is required for this hand tool. Inspect the urethane face before each use for cracking, splitting, or loose material that could compromise strike control. Do not use this hammer for applications requiring a metal-faced or ball-peen hammer. Store away from prolonged UV exposure and petroleum-based solvents, which can degrade urethane over time.
