The PROMAX US362198 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 5/8-inch (0.6250-inch) mill diameter, a 0.0300-inch corner radius with a tolerance of +/-0.0010 inch, and a 2-inch length of cut. The variable helix angle runs between 42.5 and 47.5 degrees, reducing harmonic vibration during aggressive roughing passes. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) PVD coating increases surface hardness and reduces built-up edge on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. This tool is a single-end, centercutting design intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills by machinists and toolroom professionals.
The US362198 is suited for roughing operations in non-ferrous metal applications where chip evacuation and tool life are priorities. The coarse pitch, right-hand spiral flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it a standard choice for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in production and job-shop environments. It mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders with a 1/2-inch shank bore. The 4-inch overall length accommodates moderate-depth setups without excessive overhang.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch shank diameter. Part of the PROMAX Series US362 long-length corner radius end mill family, intended for non-ferrous metal machining applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholder torque and runout procedures per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm shank seating depth and minimize overhang to reduce deflection on long-reach setups. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer recommended axial depth of cut for the shank diameter in use.
