The PROMAX US362012 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 5/8-inch (0.6250 inch) mill diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and three flutes arranged in a variable helix spiral configuration. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) PVD coating reduces friction and improves tool life when working aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a short overall length of 2.5 inches and a straight-cylindrical shank, this is a single-end roughing tool suited to production machining environments where material removal rate matters. Machinists and tooling specialists are the primary users.
The US362012 fits applications involving non-ferrous metal roughing passes where a coarse pitch, variable helix geometry helps break up chip harmonics and clear material efficiently. The 0.030-inch corner radius protects the cutting edge and reduces chipping at entry and exit. The 3/16-inch shank diameter allows use in collet-style toolholders commonly found on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. It is well suited to high-speed pocket milling, slotting, and profile cuts in aluminum alloy and similar soft metals where a ZrN-coated carbide tool outperforms uncoated tooling.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore collet toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (material code N) including aluminum alloys and similar soft metals. Part of the PROMAX Series US362 corner radius end mill family.
This tool is installed by a machinist or tooling technician into a collet-style toolholder; ensure the collet bore matches the 3/16-inch shank diameter and that the toolholder is torqued to the machine manufacturer specification before running. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Do not exceed the feed, speed, and depth-of-cut parameters recommended for solid carbide end mills in non-ferrous materials.
