The PROMAX US007090 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) mill diameter, a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut with an overall length of 3 inches. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. PROMAX PowerLayer coating reduces heat buildup and extends tool life in high-wear applications. The variable helix and variable index design minimize chatter and improve surface finish at higher feed rates. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills working in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The extra-long length of cut makes it well matched for deep-pocket milling and slotting operations where standard-length tools cannot reach. The coarse pitch and corner radius geometry help evacuate chips efficiently in interrupted cuts and full-slot passes. It is compatible with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank. Machinists working with difficult alloys such as Inconel, titanium, or hardened stainless will find the micrograin carbide substrate and PowerLayer coating appropriate for those applications.
Designed for use with straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Intended for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer specifications for runout and clamping torque. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify shank engagement depth meets the minimum recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
