The PROMAX US007005 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. With a 1/8-inch shank diameter and 0.010-inch corner radius, this single-end tool features 4 spiral flutes with variable helix and variable index geometry to reduce harmonic vibration and improve surface finish. The PROMAX PowerLayer coating extends tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.625-inch length of cut, this stub-length mill is suited for rigid, close-clearance setups on CNC machining centers and mill-drill applications.
The US007005 is designed for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. Its coarse pitch flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation during aggressive material removal. The center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry, and right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation. It mounts in a straight-cylindrical toolholder and is well suited for precision mold work, die machining, and general-purpose CNC milling where a tight corner radius is required.
Compatible with straight-cylindrical toolholders. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines capable of accommodating a 1/8-inch shank diameter. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals per PROMAX Series US007 material application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and undamaged before seating the shank to achieve proper runout. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut parameters against the manufacturer cutting data for the specific workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut depth, as overextension can cause tool breakage or workpiece damage.
