The PROMAX 156-32414 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, this tool delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with a 0.02-inch corner radius and high helix angle supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. It measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 2.5-inch overall length. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in precision manufacturing environments are the primary users of this end mill.
The 156-32414 is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in production and job-shop environments. Its short-length flute configuration and coarse pitch make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations where rigidity and chip evacuation are priorities. The straight-cylindrical shank seats into standard toolholders, making it compatible with most CNC machining centers and manual mills running right-hand cutting operations. It is not intended for center drilling but is center-cutting capable for plunge entry when required.
Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S). Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills running right-hand cutting direction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder bore and verify runout before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the tool diameter, and confirm coolant strategy matches the AlTiN coating requirements, as this coating is optimized for dry or minimum-quantity lubrication cutting conditions.
