The PROMAX 137-02030 is a solid carbide corner rounding end mill designed to machine precise convex radii on workpiece edges in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this double-end tool delivers consistent radius geometry on both ends, effectively extending tool life between regrinds or replacements. The 1/8 inch (0.125 inch) cutting radius and 5/16 inch mill diameter make it well suited for light to medium edge-finishing passes on steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling setups. The bright, uncoated finish leaves the carbide substrate exposed, which is appropriate for applications where coating chemistry is a concern or where the part will be reground.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom environments where edge-break or decorative radius work is required. Typical applications include softening sharp corners on machined components, producing consistent blend radii on dies and molds, and finishing aerospace, medical, or precision industrial parts. The double-end design is a practical choice for job shops looking to reduce per-edge tooling cost. A 5/16 inch shank diameter allows direct collet or end mill holder mounting in standard setups without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for machining setups requiring a 5/16 inch diameter, 1/8 inch radius corner rounding end mill with a 5/16 inch shank in right-hand cutting configurations.
Installation is performed by machinists using a collet chuck or end mill holder sized for a 5/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and any workpiece holding fixtures are fully secured before initiating a cut. Set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and depth of cut - do not rely on generic speed charts without accounting for the small diameter and radius geometry of this tool. Inspect both cutting ends for edge integrity before use, and never run a chipped or cracked carbide end mill.
