The PROMAX 122-00812 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and composite materials. It features a 0.125 inch cutting diameter, a 0.5 inch length of cut (LOC), and three flutes ground to a 35-degree helix angle. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes in contour milling, slotting, and profiling applications. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision components that require tight radii and fine surface finishes. The ball-nose geometry makes it well matched for 3D contouring, curved surface finishing, and core and cavity work in mold and die applications. Its compact 1.5 inch overall length (OAL) keeps the tool rigid in setups where overhang must be minimized. It is a single-end tool from the PROMAX Series 122 line, intended for use in shop environments running CNC or manual milling equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-purchase solid carbide ball end mill compatible with standard 1/8 inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing any end mill. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended grip depth and torque the collet nut to the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning any cutting operation, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish.
