The PROMAX 113-02414 is a single-end ball end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in demanding machining environments. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The tool measures 0.375 inches in diameter with a 0.875-inch length of cut, a 0.375-inch straight cylindrical shank, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 35-degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this end mill suited to contouring, profiling, and slot work in hard and exotic materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where ball-nose geometry is required for 3D contouring, radius milling, and profiling cuts. Its AlTiN coating makes it well suited for dry or near-dry cutting in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The three-flute, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration balances chip clearance with rigidity, making it a practical choice for both light finishing passes and moderate material removal in harder workpiece materials including superalloys and titanium-based alloys.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the recommended engagement depth per the holder manufacturer guidelines, and verify runout before initiating a cut. Ensure the spindle is completely stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards when selecting feeds, speeds, and coolant strategy for the workpiece material.
