The PROMAX 111-02414 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter cutting face, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length with a matching 3/8 inch shank. The four-flute geometry combined with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes at higher feed rates. An AlTiN coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, making this end mill well-suited for cutting high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where close-tolerance metal cutting is required. It is well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups. Micrograin carbide construction supports precise tolerances and extended tool life under consistent cutting conditions.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or Weldon-style holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Primary workpiece materials include high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with tooling runout and clamping torque requirements for the specific holder being used. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth and holder concentricity before running at full speed to avoid premature tool wear or breakage. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
