The PROMAX 109-04024 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length with a matching 5/8 inch shank diameter. The AlTiN finish extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments by providing oxidation resistance and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is center cutting, allowing plunge operations in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling. It is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals running CNC or manual milling equipment.
The PROMAX 109-04024 is suited for slot milling, profiling, contouring, and plunge cutting in a range of materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened workpieces where AlTiN coatings provide the most benefit. The 3-flute geometry balances chip clearance with cutting edge contact, making it effective for both roughing and finishing passes depending on feed and speed parameters. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining centers. This tool fits Series 109 of the PROMAX end mill lineup.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank end mill in the PROMAX Series 109 lineup.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the recommended grip length and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Consult the machine tool manufacturer specifications and applicable shop safety standards when selecting feeds, speeds, and coolant strategy for this tool.
