The PROMAX 109-02434 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN coating, this tool delivers high wear resistance and heat tolerance in demanding cutting conditions. The 3/8 inch diameter cutter features 3 spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle, right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, and a centercutting design that allows direct plunge entry. With a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length, it fits standard toolholders and CNC machining center setups used by machinists in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and plunging operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a tight-tolerance, fine-grain carbide tool is required. The AlTiN finish extends tool life in dry or high-speed machining scenarios and in harder workpiece materials. The 3/8 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. It is sold individually and is appropriate for production machinists, tool and die technicians, and precision machine operators working across a range of material types.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production cutting tool for use in 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual milling machines. Part of the PROMAX Series 109 end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and confirm feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the tool.
