The PROMAX 106-01222 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metals, composites, and hard materials. Built to Series 106 specifications, it features a 3/16 inch cutting diameter, a 0.375 inch length of cut, and a 0.010 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the edge of the workpiece. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. With 3 flutes and a 35-degree helix angle, this tool balances chip evacuation with cutting efficiency. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry as well as side and slot milling. Machinists and toolroom operators working with CNC machining centers and manual mills install and run this tool.
This end mill suits applications where a small-diameter, corner-radius profile is required to produce blended floor-to-wall transitions in pockets, slots, and contoured features. The 0.010 inch radius softens sharp inside corners to reduce workpiece stress risers and extend tool life in finishing passes. With a 2 inch overall length and a 3/16 inch shank diameter, it fits standard ER collets and end mill holders common to CNC vertical machining centers. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface speeds in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as a standard Series 106 replacement or direct-specification end mill for 3/16 inch ER collet holders, shrink-fit holders, and end mill adapters accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter in CNC and manual milling machines.
A licensed machinist or toolroom technician should install this end mill into a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder, ensuring the shank seats fully and runout is within machine tolerance before operation. Power down the spindle completely and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing tooling. Do not exceed the holder's rated speed or the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and can fail without visible wear if mishandled.
