The PROMAX 106-01214 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-temperature cutting environments where standard coatings fall short. The cutter measures 3/16 inch in diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. Three right-hand spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. This is a single-end tool configured for right-hand cutting direction, suited for CNC machining centers and manual milling in tool-and-die, mold making, and precision machining shops.
The 106-01214 fits applications where a small-diameter end mill with a controlled corner radius is required to blend floor-to-wall transitions in pockets, slots, and profiling passes. The 35-degree helix angle supports stable cutting in harder workpiece materials. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter for direct collet clamping in standard ER and TG collet systems. This tool is part of PROMAX Series 106, built to regular length specifications. Machinists and toolroom professionals working with hardened steels, stainless, titanium, and similar materials will find the AlTiN coating extends tool life in these demanding cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style precision cutting tool for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 3/16 inch shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with tool-holding systems and speeds-and-feeds selection for carbide end mills. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the recommended insertion depth. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Never use this tool for plunge cutting - the non-centercutting geometry does not permit axial entry into solid material.
