The PRO-SOURCE PRO24242AN is a wire-backed pleated air filter rated MERV 8, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems that require reliable particulate capture with low airflow restriction. The filter uses an antimicrobial synthetic media to inhibit microbial growth on the filter surface, and is housed in a beverage board frame with an integrated wire backing that holds pleat geometry under airflow load. Nominal dimensions are 24 x 24 x 2 inches. Particle capture efficiency is rated at 30 to 35 percent per ASHRAE 52.2. Rated airflow capacity is 1,500 CFM at a maximum face velocity of 500 feet per minute. Licensed HVAC technicians and building maintenance professionals are the primary installers.
This filter is suitable for use in any forced-air HVAC unit that accepts a 24 x 24 x 2 inch filter. Typical applications include residential gas and electric furnaces, air handlers, and packaged rooftop units operating within standard airflow ranges. The antimicrobial treatment makes this filter appropriate for environments where biological growth on filter media is a concern, such as high-humidity zones or commercial spaces with elevated occupancy. The MERV 8 rating captures common airborne particles including dust, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander without creating excessive static pressure in standard duct systems.
Designed for use with any forced-air HVAC unit accepting a nominal 24 x 24 x 2 inch filter slot. Actual filter dimensions are 23-3/8 x 23-3/8 x 1-3/4 inches for standard slide-in filter tracks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or trained maintenance professional. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or breaker before removing or installing the filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow in the system before securing the filter door. Replace this filter at regular intervals per manufacturer or building maintenance schedules to prevent excessive pressure drop and reduced system efficiency.
