The PRO-SOURCE BGSS 89 is a split ring hanger designed to support pipe runs from threaded rod in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC piping systems. Fabricated from 304 stainless steel, this hanger resists corrosion in wet, outdoor, and chemically active environments where carbon steel hangers would degrade. It accepts a 1/2 inch diameter threaded rod, which is one of the most common rod sizes used in commercial and residential pipe support installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install split ring hangers as part of a complete pipe support assembly to maintain consistent pipe alignment and meet code spacing requirements.
The BGSS 89 is suited for use in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical piping installations where stainless steel is specified for corrosion resistance. Typical applications include wet areas, food service environments, coastal installations, and any setting where exposure to moisture or corrosive atmospheres demands a non-ferrous support component. The split ring design allows the hanger to be opened and placed around the pipe without threading it on from the end, simplifying installation in retrofit or tight-clearance situations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-duty split ring hanger compatible with 1/2 inch threaded rod pipe support assemblies in plumbing and mechanical piping systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or mechanical contractors in accordance with applicable IPC and IFGC support spacing requirements for the pipe material and size being supported. Shut off the relevant piping system and depressurize the line before working in close proximity to active pipe runs. Ensure the threaded rod and fasteners are rated for the load and environment before assembling the complete hanger system. Do not overtighten the hanger closure in a way that distorts the pipe or restricts thermal expansion.
