The PRO-SOURCE 90340900409 is a Schedule 80 CPVC female adapter fitting sized at 1-1/2 inches. It connects a slip socket on one end to a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on the other, allowing CPVC pipe to transition into a threaded pipe system. Schedule 80 wall thickness makes this fitting suitable for higher-pressure applications where standard Schedule 40 fittings are not adequate. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter in both new construction and retrofit work wherever a cemented CPVC run meets a threaded connection point.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems that carry hot or cold water, as well as in chemical distribution lines where CPVC material resistance is required. The slip inlet accepts CPVC pipe for solvent-cement joining, while the FIPT outlet threads onto a male-threaded valve, nipple, or equipment fitting. It is a common component in chlorinated water systems, industrial process lines, and fire suppression supply branches that specify CPVC Schedule 80 pipe and fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe size.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC solvent cementing. Shut off and depressurize the water or process line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement on the slip end; do not substitute PVC cement. Apply thread sealant tape or compound rated for plastic fittings on the FIPT connection to prevent thread damage and leaks.
