Schedule 80 PVC has a thicker wall than Schedule 40, giving it higher pressure ratings and greater impact resistance in demanding service environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in industrial, commercial, and residential systems carrying water, chemicals, or other fluids compatible with PVC.
