The PRO-SOURCE 116-7GL is a 1.5% lanthanated tungsten TIG welding rod designed for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) applications. Measuring 7 inches in length with a 1/16-inch diameter, this electrode carries a gold color code for quick identification in the shop. Lanthanated tungsten electrodes are widely used across fabrication and maintenance welding because they strike easily, hold a stable arc, and perform well on both AC and DC current. Each unit weighs approximately 0.021 pounds. The rod is sold in a package of 10.
This lanthanated tungsten electrode suits professional welders working in light industrial, fabrication, and maintenance environments. The 1/16-inch diameter is well matched to lower amperage work on thinner base metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and nickel alloys. It is a practical choice for shops and field service techs who need a reliable general-purpose TIG electrode in a standard 7-inch length. Heliarc reference number 796F58 may be used for cross-referencing with supplier catalogs.
Designed as a standard 7-inch TIG welding electrode for use with GTAW torches that accept a 1/16-inch collet and collet body.
TIG electrodes are installed and serviced by qualified welders or welding technicians. Before changing an electrode, shut down the welding power source and allow the torch to cool completely. Grind lanthanated tungsten electrodes longitudinally, not radially, to maintain arc stability and electrode geometry. Follow applicable AWS and workplace safety guidelines when handling tungsten electrodes.
