The PRO-SAFE AF-KIT-B-XL is a complete arc flash clothing kit rated at 12 calories per square centimeter (cal/sq cm), meeting Hazard Risk Category 2 (HRC 2) requirements. The kit includes a hard cap for head protection and features an anti-fog window coating for clear visibility during work in energized environments. Sized for X-Large wearers, this kit is assembled for licensed electricians and qualified electrical workers who service or maintain energized equipment where arc flash hazards are present. The 10-inch window height provides a broad field of view, and the 0.06-inch window thickness meets the optical and impact standards associated with HRC 2 compliance.
This arc flash kit is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work where the incident energy level at the working distance does not exceed 12 cal/sq cm. Typical applications include work on panelboards, switchgear, motor control centers, and other electrical distribution equipment that falls within HRC 2 boundaries. It is intended for use by qualified electrical professionals following an arc flash hazard analysis conducted in accordance with NFPA 70E or applicable workplace safety standards. The kit provides a single-order solution for assembling the required PPE ensemble for HRC 2 rated tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style PPE kit for qualified electrical workers requiring HRC 2 arc flash protection in compliance with NFPA 70E or equivalent arc flash safety standards.
This kit is intended to be donned by a qualified electrician before beginning work on energized electrical equipment. De-energize and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures wherever possible before approaching the work area. When energized work is required and permitted under NFPA 70E, all components of the arc flash PPE ensemble must be worn together as specified by the hazard analysis. Inspect all kit components for damage, tears, or compromised window clarity before each use.
