The PRIME-LINE PRODUCTS PL7768 is a stamped aluminum bail latch designed to install directly into the spline channel of a window screen frame. At 1/16 inch thick and 1-9/16 inches in length, these latches provide a secure, low-profile catch that holds window screens in place within the frame. The mill finish aluminum construction resists corrosion and blends with standard screen frame extrusions. This pack includes four latches, making it practical for multi-window service calls or batch replacements. Window repair technicians and general contractors install these during screen refurbishment or new screen builds.
These bail latches are suited for residential window screen applications where the screen is retained by a spline-and-channel system. They fit into the spline channel groove of the screen frame and provide the latch point that secures the screen panel in the opening. Each pack contains four units, useful for replacing worn, bent, or missing latches on existing screens or for completing new screen assemblies. Typical applications include single- and double-hung window screens, casement screen frames, and similar residential screen configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement bail latch for residential window screen frames that use a standard spline channel retention system.
Installation is performed by window repair technicians or general maintenance trades and requires no power tools. The screen panel should be removed from the window opening before latch replacement to allow safe access to the spline channel. Slide the bail latch into the spline channel groove at the appropriate position on the frame and ensure the latch seats fully before reinstalling the screen. Inspect the spline itself for wear or shrinkage and replace it if it no longer holds tension in the channel.
