The PRIME LINE PRODUCTS PL 14039 is a mill-finish aluminum screen frame extrusion designed for building and repairing window and door screens. Measuring 0.75 inches wide by 0.4375 inches tall by 94 inches long with a 0.020-inch wall thickness, this extrusion provides a sturdy, lightweight frame profile suited for standard residential and light commercial screen assemblies. The mill finish is bare aluminum with no added coating, making it easy to cut to length on-site. It is installed by contractors, window and door service techs, and experienced DIYers who fabricate or re-screen window frames.
This extrusion is used wherever a standard aluminum screen frame profile is needed. The 94-inch length accommodates most full-height door screens and oversized window openings before cutting. It pairs directly with gray nylon spline corners (4-pack PL7724 or 100-pack PL14258) or metal miter corners (100-pack PL14268). Spline compatibility depends on mesh type: use 0.165-inch spline for aluminum mesh or 0.185-inch spline for fiberglass mesh. Sold in a package of 20 extrusions.
Designed for use with PRIME LINE PRODUCTS nylon corners (4-pack PL7724, 100-pack PL14258) and metal miter corners (100-pack PL14268). Use 0.165-inch spline for aluminum mesh or 0.185-inch spline for fiberglass mesh.
Cut extrusions to length using a fine-tooth miter saw or aluminum-rated chop saw before assembling corners. Deburr cut ends to avoid sharp edges and ensure corners seat fully. When re-screening an existing opening, verify the channel groove dimensions match the spline size selected for the mesh type. No special permits are typically required for screen frame repair or replacement, but follow any applicable local building codes for permanent installations.
