Built around a 5/8-inch aluminum channel housing with a heat-treated high-tension steel spring, cord, and pulley system, this balance keeps window sashes at any raised position without manual support. It is rated to offset sash weights between 19 and 26 pounds. Licensed window and door technicians, glaziers, and experienced maintenance techs install this type of balance during window hardware service or full sash replacement.

This balance is suited for residential single and double hung vinyl window applications where the existing sash balance has worn out, broken, or lost spring tension, causing the sash to fall when opened. The unit measures 0.63 inches wide by 0.55 inches deep by 27.99 inches long inside the channel. Note that the plastic top and bottom guide shoes are sold separately and are not included with this balance.
