The PREMISE WIRING SS2 is a stamped 2-gang stainless steel wallplate designed to cover standard toggle switch configurations in demanding environments. Constructed from 302/304 stainless steel with a smooth lacquer-coated, horizontal brushed finish, it resists corrosion in applications where standard thermoplastic or painted-steel plates would degrade quickly. The plate measures 4.6 inches in length and 4.6 inches in width with a thickness of 0.035 inches. It ships with a protective plastic film to prevent surface scratches during handling and installation. UL and CSA listed, it meets RoHS compliance requirements. Licensed electricians and marine electrical technicians are the primary installers of this device.
The SS2 is suited for marine, industrial, and other highly corrosive environments where non-magnetic hardware is required. Its vertical orientation accommodates two standard toggle switches in a side-by-side configuration. The plate is rated for temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees C, making it appropriate for use in unheated spaces, engine compartments, and outdoor-adjacent enclosures where thermal extremes are a factor. The included 302/304 stainless steel slotted head screw maintains material consistency and corrosion resistance through the full mounting assembly.
Designed as a standard-size OEM-style replacement or new-installation wallplate for 2-gang toggle switch devices in residential, commercial, and marine wiring applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician or qualified marine electrical technician. Always shut off circuit power at the breaker panel and verify the circuit is de-energized with a voltage tester before removing an existing wallplate or making any wiring connections. The plate is designed to cover live terminal areas and reduce contact risk, but it does not replace proper wiring enclosure requirements under the NEC or applicable marine electrical codes. Use the included stainless steel screw to avoid galvanic incompatibility in marine or corrosive-environment installations.
