The PREMIER ONE PRODUCTS PMUV-401H-16 is a germicidal ultraviolet air cleaner designed for in-duct HVAC installations. It uses a twin-tube H-lamp configuration rated at 180 watts output, delivering up to three times more microwatts of UV-C energy than single-tube lamps — the 16-inch lamp produces 180 microwatts of germicidal output. An auto-sensing ballast accepts both 120V and 240V input, making the unit compatible with a wide range of residential and light commercial electrical configurations without rewiring or adapter kits. The lamp carries a 2-year rated service life, and the unit is backed by a lifetime warranty with a 2-year coverage term specifically on the lamp itself. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
This ultraviolet air cleaner is intended for installation inside air handling units or ductwork in forced-air HVAC systems. It is suited for residential and light commercial applications where biological contaminants such as mold, bacteria, and viruses on coil surfaces or in the airstream are a concern. The 16-inch lamp length is sized for medium to larger air handler coil sections. A 12-inch lamp version is also available from the manufacturer for systems requiring a shorter fit. The auto-sensing ballast eliminates the need to specify voltage at time of order, simplifying procurement across mixed-voltage job sites.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ultraviolet air cleaner for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems accepting a 16-inch in-duct UV lamp assembly.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the air handling unit before inserting or removing the UV lamp. UV-C radiation is harmful to eyes and skin — never energize the lamp while the access panel is open or while the lamp is visible. Follow the manufacturer's mounting instructions and applicable local mechanical and electrical codes for in-duct UV system placement relative to the coil.
