The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6002730 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Ground to a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning for improved centering and reduced thrust, this bit runs right-hand spiral flutes in a regular helix. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch decimal) in diameter, matching the 2-inch overall length typical of jobber-series tooling. Solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed when drilling non-ferrous materials, plastics, and other materials where high-speed steel would deflect or dull prematurely.
This drill bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, HVAC fabricators, and maintenance trades requiring small-diameter precision holes in aluminum, copper, brass, plastics, and similar non-ferrous workpieces. The 1-inch flute length accommodates holes up to 1 inch deep in a single pass. The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear and keeps cutting geometry consistent from the start. It is sold individually and sized for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held precision drill motors with compatible collets or chucks.
Part of the PRECISION TWIST DRILL Series D33F-D33W-D33L-D33M. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute within that series for general-purpose drilling of aluminum and non-ferrous workpieces per ANSI standards.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or trades professional familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operating, and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits to prevent premature edge chipping on carbide. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing bits. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper support, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces.
