The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6001350 is a high speed steel aircraft extension drill bit designed for deep-reach drilling applications where a standard-length bit cannot access the work area. Built to Series 500-12 specifications, it features a 135-degree split point that is self-centering and web-thinned, reducing walking on entry and lowering thrust force needed to penetrate metal stock. The 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch decimal) diameter and 12 inch overall length make it well suited for reaching fastener locations in structural assemblies, sheet metal stacks, and confined airframe or fabrication cavities. The oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance during storage and service.
This drill bit is used in aerospace, aviation maintenance, and general metalworking applications where extension reach is required. The 3-1/16 inch spiral flute length (3.0625 inch decimal) and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 4xD support chip evacuation in through-hole drilling of aluminum, mild steel, and similar materials. Licensed aircraft mechanics, sheet metal workers, and maintenance technicians working on structural panels, bulkheads, and framing members are the primary installers. It is also used in industrial fabrication and general machine shop work when hole depth exceeds standard bit reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use aircraft extension drill bit for general-purpose metalworking and aerospace maintenance applications requiring a 19/64 inch diameter, 12 inch overall length HSS drill. Conforms to NAS 907 Type B standards.
Installation is performed by licensed aircraft mechanics, sheet metal technicians, or qualified machinists following applicable maintenance manuals and workplace safety procedures. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and verify chuck grip on the straight-cylindrical shank is fully seated and tightened. Disengage and de-energize all power to the drilling equipment before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the material being drilled to extend bit life and control heat buildup.
