The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000912 is a taper length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. Built from high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it measures 0.1181 inches in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration. The spiral flute geometry and straight shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks used by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians. At 3.9375 inches overall length with a 2.59375-inch flute, this Series 5ATL bit provides added reach compared to jobber-length drills, suited for deeper hole applications.
This drill bit is suited for use in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and general maintenance environments. The taper length format gives the tool extra reach for applications where a standard jobber-length bit falls short. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel. It is sold individually and conforms to DIN 340 specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose taper length drill bit conforming to DIN 340, suitable for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on benchtop drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools accepting the 0.1181 inch shank diameter.
Install and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist or technician with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the target material. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use.
