The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000776 is a cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for production and maintenance drilling in steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 2.20 mm (0.0866 inch) diameter, a 135-degree split-point tip with web thinning for fast penetration and reduced walking on entry, and an oxide/straw finish that provides baseline lubricity and heat resistance. Overall length is 2.0938 inches (2-3/32 inch) with a 1.0625-inch regular spiral flute. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks without adapters, making it a fast-change option in high-cycle drilling operations.
This bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and certain superalloys, consistent with its P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material codes. Typical applications include sheet metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, HVAC bracket work, electrical panel knockouts at small diameters, and plumbing fixture drilling where tight-tolerance holes are required. The 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in through-hole drilling without coolant-through capability. Series 2ACO is a heavy-duty grade conforming to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, making it appropriate for both shop floor and field use.
Designed as an OEM-compatible replacement or direct-use jobber drill for any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.0866-inch (2.20 mm) straight shank; conforms to DIN 338 and ANSI jobber-length dimensional standards for broad machine compatibility.
Secure the shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck before operation and verify chuck runout is within acceptable tolerance for small-diameter bits to prevent breakage. Power down and de-energize or lock out any drilling machine before changing bits. Use cutting fluid or paste lubricant when drilling steel to extend tool life, as this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Dispose of worn bits per shop safety procedures; small-diameter cobalt bits are brittle and should not be re-sharpened without proper toolroom equipment.
