The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000701 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for general-purpose drilling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. Built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, it features a 135-degree split point with web thinning to reduce walking and lower thrust requirements at entry. The 4.00 mm diameter cobalt construction with an oxide and bronze straw coating provides heat resistance and extended edge life compared to standard high-speed steel. With an overall length of 2-61/64 inches and a 1-11/16 inch flute length, this bit is sized for typical jobber-length reach in benchtop and handheld drilling operations. It is suited for machinists, maintenance mechanics, and metalworking tradespeople who require consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
The 6000701 is a right-hand cutting, regular spiral flute drill with a straight cylindrical shank measuring 4.00 mm in diameter. It is rated for use in steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and superalloys, consistent with its P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material classifications. The 11xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip clearance at moderate drilling depths up to approximately 1.69 inches. This bit is appropriate for drill press, CNC, or handheld power tool use in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments where metric sizing is specified.
Designed as an OEM-specification cobalt jobber drill bit in the Series 2ACO line, conforming to DIN 338 geometry, and compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 4.00 mm straight shank.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics using drill presses, CNC machining centers, or handheld power drills. Ensure the chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling hard ferrous alloys to preserve edge life. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace when chipping or dulling is observed to maintain hole quality and prevent workpiece damage.
