The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000696 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling operations in steel and a range of other materials. The 7.00 mm (0.2756 inch) diameter bit features a 135-degree split point and a straw oxide finish that helps resist heat and wear during high-speed cutting. The web-thinned tip reduces thrust at entry and improves chip evacuation. With an overall length of 4-19/64 inches (109.00 mm) and a flute length of 2-23/32 inches (69.00 mm), this bit fits standard jobber-length applications. It is intended for use in drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held power drills by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators.
The 6000696 is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and certain plastics, consistent with its P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material codes. The regular spiral flute geometry supports efficient chip removal in general-purpose production and maintenance drilling. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks without adapters. This bit is built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, making it a recognized option for shops that specify to those dimensional and performance norms.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 7.00 mm (0.2756 inch) straight cylindrical shank, compatible with drill presses, machining centers, and hand-held power drills across general metalworking and maintenance applications.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard drill chucks on bench-top or floor-standing drill presses, CNC machines, or hand-held power drills. Ensure the chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely fixtured before beginning any drilling operation. Do not exceed the rated drilling depth of 2.7165 inches per pass without retracting to clear chips. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds when working with cobalt tooling in hardened or abrasive materials.
