The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000577 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. It measures 9.10 mm (0.3583 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 4-59/64 inches (125 mm) and a flute length of 3-3/16 inches (81 mm). The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and decreases the thrust force needed to start a hole. A straw oxide finish provides mild lubricity and heat resistance. This bit is suited for professional machinists, tool-and-die workers, maintenance technicians, and fabricators who drill steel and similar metals in production or job-shop environments.
This jobber drill is built for drilling into steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, covering Primary Workpiece Material Codes P, M, K, N, and S under the DIN 338 and ANSI standards. The 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for moderate-depth holes. The straight cylindrical shank with zero flats is compatible with standard three-jaw drill chucks on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drills. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces cutting resistance and extends tool life in repetitive drilling operations.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in any standard drill chuck accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Rated for drilling steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per DIN 338 Series 2ACO specifications.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators using drill presses, CNC equipment, or handheld power tools. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized three-jaw chuck before operation and verify chuck runout is within acceptable limits to prevent premature edge wear. Disengage and lock out all power sources before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 3.189 inches to avoid chip packing and bit breakage.
