The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000448 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for drilling into ferrous metals, aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel, and other demanding materials. The bit measures 53/64 inch (0.8281 inch decimal) in diameter with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, allowing it to fit standard 1/2 inch chucks even though the cutting diameter is larger. The 118-degree split point reduces walking at the start of the cut and lowers thrust requirements. At 6 inches overall length with a 3 inch flute length, it handles moderate-depth holes while maintaining rigidity. Cobalt construction provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, making it well suited for hard or abrasive workpieces.
This drill bit is built for industrial and trade applications where ferrous metal, stainless, titanium, and nickel-based alloys are regularly encountered.
